Shoes of Gunce
The Shoes of Gunce is a story about a girl’s enchanting summers in her grandfather’s shoe shop and her journey to becoming a doctor, I crafted the illustrations and character designs, infusing the artwork with minute details that capture children's attention. My research into the preferences and psychology of 0-8-year-olds, alongside consultations with pediatric experts, influenced the vibrant colour palettes and intricate visual elements, creating an interactive canvas for young readers to explore with their parents.
My creative journey begins with traditional paper sketches, allowing free-flowing ideas to take shape from just a few sentences of text. This initial conceptualisation leads to step two: refining my visions within Procreate, where sketches evolve into structured designs. The final transformation occurs in Photoshop, where I bring scenes to life using a palette of flat colours before adding depth with shading, delivering illustrations that are both vivid and full of character.
